Exercising Your Lab
To the right is Gus (the barker), Lena, and Maggie. You can see Zeva in the background looking for rabbits. I run the dogs approx. 2 to 4 miles per day from my golf cart. I am fortunate to have a large back yard to run the dogs. I started training them as a puppy using a small plastic golf ball, or a small tennis ball. When we have a litter of puppies I try to teach each puppy how to sit, to swim in a small pool, and fetch a small ball. I believe that exercise is critical to the overall well-being of a lab. They are working dogs so they need to work. On the weekends my son Jon, and grandson Creed come out to run the dog with their RC cars. You have to be careful in the Texas heat because they will keep running if you let them. We take rest breaks often, and let them cool off in a small 50 gal. pool.

Kids Outdoor Zone Auctioned Off One of Our Puppies Last Night
Last Night The Kids Outdoor Zone held their 16th Annual Fundraising Banquet. The Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ) is a Christian based organization that enables men to mentor boys from 8-18 in outdoor activities and the Lord on a monthly basis. We have worked with T.J., and Sandra Greaney the founders of "KOZ" for the last 3 years. This year's event was held at the Hyatt Regency in Bastrop Texas. At the end of the Banquet they have an auction. They auction off exotic Elk Hunting trips, Fishing Trips ect., and a Labrador Retriever Puppy from Peoples Choice Labs. This year KOZ auctioned off "Tex" our 8 week old puppy from our current litter for $10,000.00...Not bad at all!!!!! The money goes to a great cause.

Why We Chose to Breed Labrador Retrievers
Why have we chosen to breed these magnificent dogs? We have had Labrador Retriever's in our family for over 30 years. Obviously, Labrador Retrievers are the most popular breed in America. Because of their even temperament and trainability, millions of Americans own Labrador Retrievers as pets. In addition, Labradors are well-suited as disability-assistants in many countries; for example, Labradors are frequently trained to aid the blind and those who have autism. They also work as therapy dogs, as well as perform screening and detection work for law enforcement and other official agencies. Additionally, they are prized as sporting and hunting dogs. For all of these reasons we have chosen to breed Labrador Retriever puppies in Austin, Texas

Excellent Companion : Perfect Hunting Dog
The Labrador Retriever is a strongly built, medium-sized, short-couple dog that possesses a sound, athletic, well-balanced conformation that enables it to function as a retrieving gun dog. It has both the substance and soundness to hunt waterfowl or upland game for long hours under difficult conditions. We believe the 10 lab puppies inherited these traits also. For these reasons, we are dedicated to breeding our Labrador Retrievers by combining exceptional looks, disposition, and structure in accordance with the Labrador Retriever Club’s standards.

The Labrador Retriever: America's Most Popular Breed
For the Twenty Seventh straight year, the nation's largest purebred dog registry has ranked Labradors as the most popular breed in the country.. The AKC states: “The Labrador Retriever has its paws firmly planted in Americans’ hearts. The Lab is such a versatile and family-friendly breed. From hunters to sportsmen, pet owners, and event competitors, Labradors are the dog of choice for the best of reasons. (according to USA Today)” They are also popular as service dogs and therapy dogs. Labradors are a loving breed that make excellent furry family members, are wonderful with children, adults, and animals alike, and offer years of unconditional love and support to the right owner and caretaker. It doesn't hurt that they are great looking and fun-loving dogs, too! The Lab is such a versatile dog that it’s no wonder it makes a great companion for a variety of lifestyles. The most distinguishing characteristics of the Labrador Retriever are its short, dense, weather resistant coat; an "otter" tail; a clean-cut head with broad back skull and moderate stop; powerful jaws; and its "kind," friendly eyes, expressing character, intelligence and good temperament.
